If you are curious, you can check out my video which goes over a graphic comparison, and some of the main changes from Combat Carnage to Extreme. Gas Guzzlers Extreme is a fast, furious, armed-to-the-teeth, trigger-happy shooter, shifted into top gear Take a white knuckle ride in this crazily addictive combat racing game that features a ton of vehicles, weapons, upgrades, on-track bonuses and environments. Summary: Gas Guzzlers Extreme is an action-packed, fast paced racing game with insane combat features. Powerups also work different, with weapon powerups lasting for 3 times in Combat Carnage, but only lasting 1 time in Extreme.

The games have a vastly different artstyle, and graphics, with Extreme having a more muted color tone, and Combat Carnage with a more vibrate color tone, and more dust/smoke effects.

So on the surface, it seems that Combat Carnage is just an inferior version of Extreme, but its a little more than just that. Support for Combat Carnage was dropped, and they continue to update, and add content, including two DLCs, to Extreme until Jwith the 1.8.0.0 update. Gamepires then decided their best move would be to get a publisher, update, and re-release the game as Gas Guzzlers Extreme on Octoonly on Steam. However, due to the game not passing on Steam Greenlight, Gamepires was forced to release the game on different platforms, like Origin, Desura, and a physical boxed copy. Its a vehicular combat game made by an indie company called Gamepires, who are now currently working on SCUM.

Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage was released on May 4, 2012. Its time for another VS, first I covered FlatOut 2 and FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, now we will be tackling the Gas Guzzlers series, with Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage, and Gas Guzzlers Extreme.
